Goals
- We would like to establish a state-of-the-art Pre-clinical research center in India to offer research training and undertake collaborative cardio metabolic research work in India and abroad.
- C3RF will serve as a training centre for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to undertake their research in Cardio Metabolic Diseases.
- C3RF will get both intra and extra mural grant supports to undertake research.
- C3RF will publish the research work in highly reputed journals under the name of the affiliated research institute.
Current Focus
- Major focus of our research is in cardiac hypertrophy, cardiac failure and myocardial infarction.
- Research objectives are focused to determine the mechanical and biochemical changes at molecular and cellular levels responsible for the adaptive and maladaptive processes of cardiac hypertrophy.
Research Programme
C3RF is working on the following models of cardiac disease in small animals (primarily in mouse).
- Pressure-overload hypertrophy
- Myocardial infarct model
- Left ventricular ischemia and reperfusion models
- Isolate both cardiomyocytes and cardiac fibroblasts to perform in vitro experiments
- Process issue and cell culture sample for biochemical and histochemical analyses
All these animal models will be validated scientifically using a well-established noninvasive small animal echocardiography for assessing systolic and diastolic and valvular function of the diseased heart.
